This space is designed for 2 persons who look for comfort, relaxing, cosyness and who love being around each other, their family and friends. I made a clear contrast between the private part of the house and the part where everybody is welcome. The 2 spaces are very open and are seperated by a wooden wall, that captures the attention.

The 2 keywords to this design are anorexia and symmetry. I wanted to develop an object for those who have an eating disorder. Then you'll only eat when someone is around, so that nobody notices that you have an eating disorder.
I transformed these keywords into an object. The two elements are opposite to eachother. When you are alone; you are unable to eat at the element. When you're sitting together on the two benches; they will slide to each other, and meet each other in the middle. The 'broken' table will be complete again, and you can both enjoy your meal. - maquette 1:40 material: wood & rubber _back |

I transformed this 2d-image to a 3d-object, that is interesting to see in every angle.

This is a birdhouse based upon the shape of an ant-eater. I studied the life of an ant-eater, and gave a new interpretation of his shape and his skintexture. This was the base for this birdhouse.

I designed a kitchen that doesn't reveal the true actions happening there. This is based upon the little information you get by looking through the heating departments of a snack wall. You'll only get fragmented pieces of information. In this kitchen half of the information is hidden, by a vertical moving element which hides the cooking area. If you're not cooking, you can hide the kitchen-element, by pushing it towards the ceiling. If you want to cook, you can pull the cooking-element down which hides the cook's upper body. So you'll have to guess what's going on in there by interpretating the actions of the cook's lower body. - _back |

Ecological-series: Cup.
This cup is part of the ecological-series; where I decided to use existing forms and the purest materials. The cup is made from porcelain; which is the purest form of clay from the highest top of the Kaolin Mountain in China. The shape is based upon a cone shaped bin, wrapped around with rope. - _back |

People are used to have light switches, power outlets and pipes coming out of their wall. It's so common nowadays to see those elements in your house, that you don't notice them anymore. I created an object that, at first sight, seems to be a collection of pipes on your wall. But if you look closer, it feels weird to see so many pipe-endings together, and you'll notice the functional function of this collection: small hooks to organize your belongings.
A series of pipe-endings and light switches. Material: Acrylic One - _back |
